Timmy I love tennis. I play the fiddle. I survived leukemia.

“I remember looking at the receipt on my food tray. It said I was three years old. I remember thinking I would soon be four.”

Birthdays are something Timmy Hennessey, 11 as of May 2009, never takes for granted. Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia shortly before his third birthday, Timmy received chemotherapy and radiation treatments at Cincinnati Children’s for several years and is now cancer-free.
Timmy’s mother, Mary, praises Cincinnati Children’s as a “treasure in Cincinnati,” explaining how they made her part of the team devoted to curing Timmy. “They were phenomenal with us and with Timmy, who somehow saw his whole ordeal as a great adventure.”
